We have 2 types of volunteers at WFB. We have volunteers who choose a reoccurring time during our regular business hours to come in and volunteer. We also have volunteers who are looking for a group and/or one-time volunteer opportunity. All reoccurring volunteers must fill out the volunteer information sheet either online or at Weld Food Bank and attend a volunteer orientation. Orientations are held twice a month.
Groups and one-time volunteers must contact our Volunteer Manager to set up a volunteer time. Due to overwhelming community support you may need to schedule your group volunteer time up to 4-6 weeks in advance. A single representative from each volunteer group must read and sign the Weld Food Bank Group Agreement before coming in to volunteer.
All volunteers wishing to come in as an individual must be at least 18 years of age. Occasional exemptions for younger volunteers can be made, but volunteers must be at least 12 years old and accompanied by an adult to work in our warehouse during regular business hours. Exceptions can be made for groups of younger volunteers, but please keep in mind that Weld Food Bank is a working warehouse and not all warehouse volunteer activities are appropriate for young volunteers. If you have questions about what volunteer opportunities are best for a particular age group please contact the Volunteer Manager, Weston Edmunds.
