This is a trademarked national program that provides nutritional, prepared meals and snacks for undernourished children. Close to 50,700 meals were served in the 12-13 Fiscal Year, a 79% increase over the previous year.
WFB serves these meals in Greeley at the Boys and Girls Clubs, Hill-n-Park Mission, the Rodarte Center, and in Milliken. Kids Cafe ranges from an afterschool snack to a hot meal. WFB recognizes the role nutrition plays in a child’s education. Hungry children have trouble learning and the food bank works diligently to ensure that the students in our community have the food they need to excel at school.
With the completion of our on-site commercial kitchen, our goal is to double the amount of Kids Cafe meals that we provide in the community.
We feed children like Sarah at our Kids Cafe sites. Sarah relies on Weld Food Bank so she isn't hungry when she goes to bed. Unfortunately, there are many children like Sarah in Weld County. Help us make sure every one of them has enough to eat!
